FEATURE: PERCEPTION new Stan Harrington Feature begins filming February!

Corpse...you're killing me...why you think I have any budget at all after all I have revealed is beyond me...I dont even own a camera...I have borrowed 4 different dslr's 3 were 7d's and one was a 60d, I own a mike...I have no crew...an actor will hold the camera when I am in the shot or it is set up on a tripod...I live in an office with no windows, shower, kitchen, hot water...I am officially bankrupt too...

But if you think Im living large then my movies must have size...so I love that!

Thanks for following my story though, bro...

OK, well, I should perhaps say it looks like you have a big budget. That's a compliment. Also, aren't you doing it as ULB w/ SAG? That costs money. OK, we're not talking mega bucks, but it ain't a no-budget production :). But hey, that too is a compliment - I mean, we'd all rather shoot with more than with less $. So kudos!

And you get major points for walking the walk. Many people talk but are never willing to sacrifice. You sacrificed - and your bank account shows that. You're the real thing as an indie filmmaker. I wish you the very best.

Yessir, it is ULB...the great thing about the use of ULB is that you can cast as many non union as you like and they do not require payment...you only need one sag actor to qualify and they get 100 per day...my obstacle will be if we get the name actor we are courting...then the budget will be something else...but to be clear the budget at the moment looks like falling somewhere between 10 and 15,000...this is definitely a lot more than I have done in the past and I will have to try to raise some of it...the thing is, I decided long ago to just go ahead and trust that it will fall into place...too many people wait around to raise the money or think of all the reasons that they cannot proceed and wind up doing nothing...from nothing I am up to 12 films now since 2005...my first was 4,500...second 8,500...I did 5 films for $150 in between...last year Creed got to about 12,000 and Small Dayts went above that but we had partners...

I hope this sharing helps to inspire in some way...anything is possible really...my cheapest film was $22 and it won awards...

Cheers to all and thanks for the support Corpse!

Thrilled to announce the addition of RD CALL (Waterworld, I am Sam, Murder by Numbers, Babel) to the cast. RD will be playing Marcus, on of the leads. Shooting will resume August!!!

Wow, he's somewhat of a name there, congrats! Are you concerned that you're putting off the shoot for that many more months?

RD's in a play till July 23rd so it allows me time to save the payroll...he loves the script and has committed...the way I shoot, Brandon, its quite normal to have big gaps because of the natrue of trying to get everything without an outlay and limiting the compromise...it's tough but I am used to it and fortunately my casts always want to see the film made...Not something I ever recommend though and your question is a very good one...To give you an idea, I shot CREED over about 40 - 50 hours but it took 12 months to do it...it cost me about 10,000 and bankrupted me. The things we do for love! (love of our craft). I wasn't intending to pay for it, infact a distributor had asked me to make it for 10,000. I never would have made a horror film otherwise...I am known for great stories in general but the lure of the budget was what convinced me. I pulled out of the deal when they wanted me to work on their schedule which was impossible without me quitting my job which was silly so, because I already had the script and most of the cast lined up I did it myself and spent everything I had to get it made...If I had more money I would have had someone else do post on it but I dont...On to Perception!!!

Stan, you are amazing. Nothing stops you. I was beginning to wonder what happened, since there were no updates for awhile, but I see you are firmly in control, and everything is moving according to plan. One big advantage you have is that you are so versatile, you write, you direct, and you also act! Given how hard it is to get an actor who is just right for the role, it's a huge advantage to be able to write something for yourself, and also be able to take one of the roles. Of course, that increases the pressure on you in another way, since now you have to wear yet another hat, but that's indie filmmaking for ya!

So keep us updated, even if there's not much to report. For example, you could write a post, like "waiting for such and such to be available, and then we can shoot"; the next day you post "still waiting!"; day after: "Yep, still waiting!". And so on. Because some of us just can't get enough of this saga. Anyhow, wish you a lot of success as always, and can't wait for what's next!

Our new poster (so far)..there is an update!!! I couldn't really put who we were waiting on because I felt, not that it would jinx it, more that it might seem inappropriate to use someones name...and then of course if you dont secure the talent, then you run the risk of appearing to be a bit of a dreamer...but all in all we are in tact and in place to resume in August when RD's play ends and I can fly Kely McClung from Atlasnta in...that's an air fare I have to save for too so it all adds up...

Thanks for your interest as always...I'll try to be more regular...pun intended...!

Very clever poster, Stan, a cunning way to save on labor - you just do half of it wet, then fold it along the middle and get a mirror impression on the other half, then add the birds, and you're done! Looking forward to further updates!

You got the idea Corpse...its supposed to resemble the rorschach ink blot tests...there are little gems buried in the images too...I was fortunate enough that a good friends boyfriend who was in CREED and did that poster, did this for me as well...his name is Wyatt Frantom and an architect during the day...He actually did an amazing drawing for a poster for another of my scripts called BLOOD...a western...it is amazing...'I'll post it sometime...

ATL Represent!!

Rob's a great guy. Glad to see all his recent success and a good choice Stan.

Congratulations...I've been following the Chicago flick with interest on FB and look forward to seeing most of the crew back in ATL safe and sound.

Shooting with RD Call this weekend and Ciera Parrack...this should be fun...we are using an exclusive rig developed by the Sconces. I hope I can manage it. Matt, Gary and Troy Ruff were all here last week and helped out and lending their incredible passion and talents to my film. Thanks guys!!! The DVX User family is growing...!!!
