Pearstone VW-VBG6 Rechargeable Battery does not sit tightly on the AC130. I hate that I am just now realizing this. It is jiggling out of place even if I bump the tripod with my foot slightly or try to reposition tripod height. It sits fine side to side but can slide up just enough to loose the connection and shut the camera off.
I got the camera from BandH and they offered this as the option for a cheaper battery. I understand why they thought it worked because technically it does. However, it is unusable like this. I lost so many clips yesterday on a shoot trying to treat the camera like a cracked egg so as not to loose my clip. Still lost a lot. Feel like an idiot because I just threw away my packaging for the battery a few days ago and now wont be able to return it. Also it has been past the 30 day mark.
I did test the battery but on a tripod and only turned it on to make sure it booted the camera up and just let it sit for 5min to make sure it stayed on and battery life still stayed up. The Panasonic battery that comes with the camera runs for so long, I just haven't had to go to the Pearstone battery on a real shoot until yesterday. I guess the 3MOS sensors really help the battery life versus the CCD's.
Total bummer. Gonna have to explore some ideas of things to wedge in the dead space between the actual battery and the battery holder on the cam to see if I can hold the battery in place enough for it to not get shut off.:undecided
