Hi everyone
Looking for advice on 2 things
Firstly... ive decided to go with Edius pro broadcast version 4 in my new laptop [arriving shortly]the laptop has dual core opteron proccessoes and 2gig of ram with 7200rpm spindle speed.
I also have a dell 24" monitor... So to the question without a designated capture card in laptops how would I be able to preview clips from the timeline other than the preview within the edius interface?
The dell has component in d-sub,dvi-d could any of these be co used whilst editing in the studio for better referencing bearing in mind that the dell has a resolution of 1900 x 1280.thereabouts.
Secondly .... Im having a great deal of trouble playing back clips from panasonics p2 viewer...not from the camera/p2 card but when ive copied the mxf file to the hard drive and try to make a virtual card
Im doing something wrong there and cant see what it is .
Any help greatly received?

As I understand it you need to copy the whole P2 Card directory structure in order to map that as a virtual card. P2 Genie - which will be out for Windows in the next few days - will copy the files for you automatically and make them ready to be mounted as virtual cards within the P2 Viewer.
