I have a budget of around $1500-2000 tops, I need a few things for my gh4 and possibly my pc too.
mainly thinking about getting a decent cage, skier lite , varavon or possbily Eazy Handle. And a good Low light lens like sigma 18-35mm with speed booster but that will be $1400 alone.
as for my pc Im thinking bout upgrading the gtx 760 > gtx 980 and upgrading the 500 watt corsair cx powersupply to somthing like a 750g evga psu., also possibly a Swiftech H220x Cpu watercooler.ssds!

GH4:
2 batteries
3 sd cards
Ogio Ty 2 Bag
14-140mm gh2 kit lens
7.5mm ronkinon fisheye
lens blower/cleaning supplys
filter set for 14-140mm

upgrades:

cage
sigma 18-35? + sb

PC: (i7 worth it?)
i5 3570k 4.2ghz
16gb corsair 1600mhz ram
gtx 760 2gb (gtx 980?)
128gb ssd (samsung 850 pro 250gb x2?)
500gb sata drive windows (4tb western digital)
2tb ext.
500 watt corsair cx series psu (evga g2 750 watt psu)
+ swiftech h220x cooler

upgrades:

980
250gb ssd
4gb hd
evga g2 750watt psu
swiftech h220x cpu watercooler

thanks for any advice.

You are the only one able to prioritize what you need most.

It may be worth it to consider some manner of RAID array for redundancy in your machine, either via an external mini tower or internal setup.

Hi
I think that your computer base is to week for 4K project, we have a MacMini (2012) i7 (4core) running MaxOS 10.10 and FCPX 10.3.1 and it´s some minor problems there that goes away when the thunderbolt disc with the whole project are moved to our MAC Pro (2013)
At our field MacBook Air i7 (2012) we only use HD 1080 50 Mb recording for editing in place with MBA mostly for SatCom up link to internet.

And a last remark... 4K project needs BIG dics... Yours

I saw a measurable difference in performance going from an i5 to an i7, especially since I use Premiere, which is very CPU intensive. Even though Premiere has GPU enhancements, it's not as good an implementation of it as Sony Vegas.

SSD is definitely the way forward (i have a 2013 iMac TOTR with 1TB fusion drive) and my new MBP 2014 retina ssd blows it away for app speed and rendering. Im only rendering to a usb g-drive but its still quick. Both have i7 processors (but still need to close down some apps at times like photoshop, illustrator, after effects etc. Next buy will prob be mac pro at some stage

I bought my gh4 3 weeks ago, went for 2 additional batteries (non panasonic), 2 x 64gb pro extreme cards, panny 14-35mm lens and an olympus, tiffen variable ND

what next?? well for me its:-

A cage
35 - 100mm panny lens
4/5k monitor would be good
RAID system

Lets be honest, our list seems never ending :D
