I just bought a LX 32GB class 10 Patrio SDHC Card
, But I encountered the speed issue : 1.When I shoot video
use GH1 , always encounter card write error due to slow write speed;
2.The bench mark on my computer the
write speed min:3.8MB/s Max:6.1MB/S Its too slow for a class10 card ;
Could this be a card problem ? Or a setting issue ?

Anyone got same issue ? Thanks

The Video setting is AVCHD 32Mbit/s and MJPEG 50Mbit/s .

I've come to the conclusion that no SDHC card can be relied upon, no matter the "class" . Just take a look at numerous threads in this forum on the subject as well as the HMC150 and Canon forums. These cards just seem to have wildly varying quality control issues.....UNFORTUNATELY!

I would gladly pay lots of money for a sdhc that is as reliable as a P2 card...well maybe a bit less than 500$ for 16GB!!!

All that's inside a P2 card is raided SDHC cards (basically). I think the Panasonic Gold Class 10 cards are the closest your going to get. There's so many factors involved besides just the card (the card writer in the camera, the cameras processor, etc.) that could cause a malfunction.

Sounds like you've got a bad Patriot card.

I've been shooting with Patriot cards almost every day for over a year now with zero problems.

I benchmarked a Patriot LX 16GB card this Spring, here are my results:

19 MB/sec Write Speed

20 MB/sec Read Speed ( limited by the reader )

I've standardized on the Patriot 32GB IRIS SDHC cards, which benchmark as:

18 MB/sec Write Speed

20 MB/sec Read Speed ( limited by the reader )

I use this card and it worked 95% of the time the other day when shooting down by the river. I got the error in MJPEG mode a few times when the shot was very detailed. Then I switched over to AVCHD 1080 24pn. One shot even failed in AVCHD, but I think it's just because I haven't found the best settings yet for that card. The settings I used were Andrew Reid's settings, but I added 422 and bumped up the Audio Encoding bps to 448000.

I only had one issue with the tester13 "c" settings and all that did was black my camera out for a mere second. I have been using it for many hours everyday and have no other problems.

i'm using the Sandisk "VideoHD" 8GB Class 6 card I bought at Radio Shack...i am TRYING to make this thing fail w/pTool v3.36 C setting, and i just cant. i live on a citrus/avocado grove and there's no lack of detail to push this hack to break up my footage. maybe it's lust a lucky card?
