Paranormal Activity - New Horror Movie is the Next Blair Witch

Congrats to the film-makers for doing what we never did; but honestly this is an average film with a truly laughable net-exorsicm sequence and suffers too much from 'as if you'd keep the camera on' syndrome.

Without the marketing this would have been straight to DVD and forgotten. It just shows you how powerful marketing is. I've seen some real gems gross $7000, and this, well..

Still, GL to them. There were one or two really creepy moments

Saw this film last night...it was TERRIBLE. What a scam, the fact that the film made over 100 million dollars. It doesnt deserve it, not for its dire content anyway.

21 pages and no one asked the obvious?

Where the hell did the other $14,000 of the budget go?!

Yea, the Blair Witch CPA recoverd $59,999.99 of thier $60k bugdet so this should be interesting (minus Speilberg and crews pay for a few days for the 'new ending' $2M). It's just like the Jackass 2 guys who had a budget of $10m, they felt bad they made it for $300k so the studio stepped in and billed them $15M for the chours line ending.

He he he

Now they will have 3D cams to take stupidity to a new dimension for Jackass 3'd'. Turds will be flying.

At least you didnt pay cinema prices like my mother, although I strongly advised her NOT to waste her money seeing Paranormal Activity at the cinema but shes really into stuff like that and she went anyway. She even said it was good....pfffff.

THere is nothing good about it...nothing interesting, cliche momnets, blah blah. It sucks balls.

Finally saw the movie this weekend. I think it was great.
Though the cinematography was meant to give that amateur feel you can see art in some of his camera positions. Such as in the beginning when the guy was making dinner and the camera was on the counter you can only see his torso but he has the butcher knife in his hand as he was talking about eliminating the problem. Which this shot became ironic in the end of the film. Though I agree with some about changing some things such as the guy have such a successful job but speaks like a 12 year old as someone put it. Over all I think this film was great in telling a story. Whether you liked the film or not, it must have kept your interest in the story till the end.

Yeh but realistically a REAL man wouldnt of let his partner sleep closest to the door and I doubt she would of anyway.

Haha, as soon as he showed his partner the video of that exorcist girl I thought how lame is that hahahah.

Nothing about the film was original in any way...moving door, shadows...a loud band for a cheap fright....was that all the director had to offer?

Only the Ouija board setting alight seemed ok'ish.

Watched this last night, was hoping to be scared but I wasn't... the final scene/shot was kind of creepy, but was so fast, and it took forever to get there... the subject of demons has fascinated me for a long time, but this particular film exploring them was pretty weak, in my opinion.

Ha ha, lots of people thought this was terrible? I do not get scared at films. Never! Ever!. But...I saw this at home, alone, during a winter storm outside, lots of rattling branches. Then, near the climax, something crashed in the kitchen. Just about jumped out of my skin...

I loved this film, yep there were plenty of plot holes, but it was frigging creepy. There are like 79 sequels out now, so hopefully everyone made a ton of money. Congrats to all!
