------

How the process started. I had an idea for the Thrillfest short, but not yet a storyline. Elton and I then talked it through and worked out what was doable without going over ambitious. After collaborating ideas together which took a period of a few days I then wrote the script. One draft, tweaked it then polished. Two drafts in all.

This story is set in the mid 60s. Newlyweds on their way home. We tried to capture that era as much as possible with some costumes bought from a vintage store. Scarf was made by the actress herself. Elton also used an 8mm camera which film will be processed and used within the short itself.

We had a skeleton crew on set. Elton was pretty much Mr. Robert Rodriguez having to do the lighting, camera work, directing, sound engineer as well as overlooking the entire preproduction and production work.

My producer's end was to secure the post production team, rental car, secure a certain "prop" by a carpenter, get the lead actress (with whom we've worked before) and secure a "surprise" material which we will soon reveal. Both Elton and I will collaborate on the overall look of the editing process.

Both Elton and I are now into post production work though there are a few more shots that need to be filmed. This film is the best collaborative effort we've both done together. We dropped out of Thrillfest to ensure the "quality" of this unique product is not jeopardized. Once completed we will place the film in its entirety here for viewing and then submit the short into film festivals.

Thanks, Marlon. Elton was out in the middle of nowhere filming in Utah and doubled back and forth on this deserted road. Costumes are meant to look like the mid 60s - sort of a "Mad Men" theme.

That's a '66 Chevy we rented in our production for the amazing rental cost of "$1." The owner of the car has had his convertible in a short film before so he was more than wiling to let us borrow his car for the shoot. Huge score for our production.

Huge "THANK YOU!" to Matt Harris for the fantastic work he did on our posters. He gave us several choices and they all look fantastic.
Thank you, Matt for all the hard work. Looks amazing!

Thank you Jls4 - I use to live in Atlanta! Got on a CNN show once as audience member, was rather cool.

Thanks martay! - Grabs are from the film shoot which Elton shot. Poster by the incredible poster designer guru, Matt Harris.

Marlon - To quote Elton who filmed the short, "It's 5DMKII and a little bit of Super 8 (at 70fps!)" That's the cameras used on the short.
