Panglao Island Nature Resort Cinema Commercial

Heres a commercial I just finished a few hours ago for showing at digital cinemas in a mall. Shot in 3 days.
7D pretty nimble enough for tough situations, on land and sea.
I also liked how the 80mm f1.9 mamiya 645 lens looked on the medium shots of people.
I "diy-ed" a lenscap and glued a lens mount to fit the canon.

Graded and edited in EDIUS.

Well done Ted, especially for only 3 days of shooting. Some really elegant stuff in there. The settings were clean and movements like butter, some very well composed compositions in some shots– you really made the place look attractive.

My only comments would be;
At 1:00 the sax kicks in and the mood of the music sort of changes a little, but I'm nitpicky about that stuff.... I like the guitar part after it (if it's playing at a mall, it might not be heard anyway?)
Your overhead shots at :42 and 2:23 are just great. What kind of rig/lenses are you using?
Overall the edit is solid, personally I think the dissolves are too often and too long, but it does sort of work with the content and pace... sometimes I get lost in the footage and then before I know it I can't make out what it is anymore because it's dissolving into something else.
Way to stick your avatar in there at 1:55 ;)

Great work! My offer still stands if you'd like to work together on one of these sometime

:-) thanks Mike, nice constructive comments there! Something that went south over at AF100 threads! LOL! :-)

Here's some BTS showing the 7D in action. Shot mostly by the models using a small sony cam i gave them to have fun with.

Strengthening our thrusts for the huge Chinese market, a lot of my work is being translated to Mandarin, this project poses challenges since the words I used are rather poetic and poses double meanings, but I guess the message is still there.

Heres how it looks with Mandarin Calligraphy.

Projected on Big Screen Today

Projected on Big Screen Today

Just viewed this on a huge digital cinema screen today and I'd say... wow.

Beautiful. We had the sequential Tiffs and 48 khz audio track transcoded into a compliant files for the projection server.

I figured I was watching what the guys at the Zacuto shootout saw.

Heres a pic to give you guys an idea of the theater size.
