SHORT: Pancakes - Constructive criticism required

This is a very short film I did to gain experience and learn some editing, lighting, camera angles etc. I appreciate your constructive criticism on this whimsical little short.

Hey Tim. I filmed it with a Panasonic GH2. I think I hacked it with the 44M patch (not too sure on that bit - but it was a base level hack, nothing extreme). The lens was a old Rikenon 50mm 1.2 manual focus. I think one of the clips that ended in the cut was the 14-42 lens. All practical lighting.

How about some wider shots? Felt a bit claustrophobic.

Interesting. I thought about wider shot but ruled them out for two reasons (please comment here): I didn't feel the background is aesthetically pleasing enough to include in the shots, I felt that even being out of focus, they could possibly distract from the focus point (I'll take a picture later today so you can comment on that thought of mine). I wanted to keep focus on the subject matter of making the pancakes, the action of making the pancakes. The initial idea was to make a video recipe of making pancakes (as oppose to reading a recipy) and hence the closer focus. The initial idea changed a bit through the day.

I can see a few shots that could be wider come to think of it, the last one could have been.

Thank you Searcher.

Thank you Searcher.

It was really good. The quality was fantastic, as was the lighting. The close up shots worked well, and the main objects in focus were sharp. Can't say anything really bad about that. Well done.
