pancake lens 1,7

What's up dude! (Sorry for the delayed reply...my internet connection is sporadic at best right now...I'm dropping Comcast tomorrow for good!)

Business is better now....I gave up the Cheesy Tuna Pasta and now feast on $1 Banquet TV dinners. It's a little extravagant, but I'm worth it.

I'm shooting with just one GH1 right now, with a cheap native 1920x1080/24p panasonic palmcorder for backup (it doesn't even require pulldown). I'd like to get a second GH1 for backup, since I also use the GH1 for my personal video and photography and am risking breaking/losing the GH1, but am holding out for a "GH2"...as if that will surface on the market in the next 24 months. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

But yeah, I love the 20mm f1.7. For personal video/photo or wedding video work, I hardly take the thing off the camera anymore! For non-wedding stuff, I use a FaderND (62mm) with a generic metal lens hood attached to it. Works awesome!

Nice, I'm curious on the e-p2 but it only does 720 P....ep3 with 1080 is a buy if it comes out next year for me (as it can use panny lenses)

Excuse my ignorance, but does your hood attach to the Fader, or before the fader? I seriously need a hood to go over my lens with the fader attached, I've just been stumpted as to what to buy.

I got the 62mm FaderND which has a 67mm thread on the front, and use this metal hood http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/357645-REG/Kalt_NPMLH67_67mm_Metal_Lens_Hood.html

But I forgot to mention, this setup is ONLY for my 20mm f.17....it will not work with the kit lens without major vignetting...even without the lens hood if you sandwich a UV/protective filter in there!

I suggest getting a FaderND larger than 62mm, and just use a step-up ring to mount it, if you're concerned about DOF control with the kit lens. I'm not....I only use the kit lens for wedding ceremonies (WORK), so I don't even bring the FaderND with me. I just use it for non-work stuff, and mostly just on the 20mm.

I already have a Fader from eBay to fit on the kit lens. Sounds like I need a different solution for it then?

Maybe not....does it vignette? Mine probably vignettes at 14mm because I have a UV/protective filter sandwiched with the 62mm FaderND. I use my lenses for wedding work and personal photography, which is like buying hamburger spatulas to work at McDonald's, so I NEVER remove the B+W 010 MRC UV filters. Those damned lenses are too expensive...and I'm po'.

But the 62mm FaderND works fine with the 20mm...even with a filter inbetween...and that cheap 67mm mount metal lens hood.
