Panasonic Warranty - Grace Period

Okay - I have one for you all.

The camera malfunctioned and wouldn't turn off nor record. This was on March 28th. The warranty is 1 year. I bought the camera from J&R on March 28th the previous year.

By the time I boxed it up and next-day aired it to the authorized repair place, they received it April 1st.

The Panasonic rep is telling me they might not cover it. I'm waiting to hear back.

I find this amazing that a company would not allow for grace periods, especially if I ordered the camera by mail and it took a week to get to me.

Does anyone know if Panny offers a grace period? I've heard Sony has a whopping 30 day grace period on some stuff, so I would think their competitors would too.

Of course I'll share my findings as soon as they give me the verdict. If anyone knows the grace period let me know.

Thanks!

I sure hope so.

If you notified Panasonic on March 28th, then certainly. And if you show a ship date, then certainly.

We bought a Sears refrigerator. The ice maker went out three days past warranty, and Sears wouldn't repair it.

We cancelled our Sears card, and never bought again.

Panasonic usually does what's right.

Panasonic just called and said that it's ultimately up to one of a hundred people who process the warranty - but they DO have an unwritten grace period to allow for shipping, etc. She said my unit is convered. Thank goodness!
