well...

i used it today. Did a bit of shooting, tried to steal it...but they wouldn't let me take it until they have a full production model as the lens wasn't ready. Hopefully will get that in early May...

Loved the manual control, the moveable LCD and the electronic viewfinder means you can shoot with the camera up to your eye socket which makes things so much more natural and stable.

sweet, no footage? and what exactly is manual?

sorry no footage until the production model, they want to show it at it's best which is fair enough. it looks potentially VERY interesting. But faster glass is needed. I have a Nikon adaptor for it already but that means double the length of lenses due to magnification. They have a Leica M mount for it too, now that is sweet.

You can set it to auto, aperture priority, shutter priority or full manual. You have a dial on the front of the camera. Press once and you can dial in aperture, press again and you can dial in shutter etc...

You can set ISO too yeah?

does it have 1/48 and 1/50 shutter speeds?

any idea of street price and ship dates there?

oh yes, you can set iso, can't remember how high, but it was pretty high. No idea how it looks though.

trying to think about shutter speeds, I can't remember...

They are looking at a June launch I believe. Pricing not sure... Think most of the guestimates have been close.

How about the Olympus Zuiko 14-54 f/2.8-3.5 zoom lens (equivalent to 28mm at wide and 108mm at full zoom)? Seems like it should cover a good deal of shooting situations for a reasonable price. Or is this still too slow?

Philip, do you think the included Panasonic lens is still worth the cost even though it is on the slow side, or should we just buy the body separate and add other lenses to our setup?

Phillip please give us the word on the image quality. At least scale it between the D90 and MKii

Lense speed isn't really anything to me, especially now that you're confirming the ISO change. It's almost official. Live HDMI?

I hate you!

Only verbal. But a gentleman's word...

I am trying to get them to send me a production model when am out in Hawaii at beginning of May so I can shoot some hula girls for them and some beautiful scenery. No point trying to replicated what Vincent did so brilliantly.

if i don't get it in time for Hawaii will probably make a film of my cats ;-)

I would say picture quality is def better than the ******** and worse than the ******* and it craps all over the ******* but it is not as good as the ******.

I am officially allowed to say it has better video capabilities then the iphone. ;-)

Soft rating: Where at in regards to D90 and MKii? PLEASE

Also, if possible, could you tell us how well the 17mbps codec stands up if compared to the various HDV and AVC-HD cams out there? I'm thinking that is a good benchmark to compare to since those are the other types of cams with the closest data rate/codec formats that many of us are already familiar with.

Edit: I posted just after you said you can't talk too much about it yet. Oh well, looking forward to see what you can show us when the time comes. Thanks.

i wish i could tell more, but seriously i can't. Be patient a little bit longer. Won't be long now...
