Panasonic TM900 (1080p50 Hybrid Image Stabilisition and i20 Zoom Test Video

Hello,

Does the TM900 have a live Video Out?

Im looking to use this camcorder pole mounted, to get above the crowd lines at airshows.
Using the IR Remote via wired emitter/transmitter for control.

Live Video Out, like the old Sony D8 would be wonderful.

Hi, I'm also a brand new to this site.
For 2 month I own a TM900 camera. I just sold my Sony VX200 with its Steady cam. I still own a much lesser Steady cam.
I have been using the Tm900 for a 17 day cruise from Forth Lauderdale to Barcelona and I must say it fullfilled my expatiations.
The small size, the ois and face recognition impressed on me. I have manage to make DVD:s to a quality that suits me. I done all my shootings at free hands so far, but I am going to use my monopod in the future.
I have examples of my first shoting in Fort Lauderdale on youtube:

and from from a church:

Dont forget I'm shooting at free hand.

You say you have the 900. I am looking at this as one of my choices. My problem is that I am going to make the majority of things into DVD but some will be made into bluray if possible. I want to keep a higher quality original for later use. I am working with football and the videos after the game need to be made into DVD. At the end of the year when I make a highlight I will be making some of these into bluray if it all works out. SO, my problem is this. When I make the game films I have a short period of time to get a 50 minute video edited, rendered and burned. Using AVCHD is a slower process than SD or standard HD as I have been told. What did you use to render etc? How long of a process was it? I am learning about HD but there is a lot to know before you jump in and buy a camcorder. Thanks for any help possible.

I have the TM900 and have done what you are talking about with vacation video. I use Premiere Pro CS5.5. I would recommend this for you as well. If you have a fairly fast machine it goes pretty quickly and is very easy if you have some experience with it.I shoot almost everything in 1080 60P and Premiere has a preset for it. On render for Blu-ray or DVD it gets converted to 30 P with very little degradation.

Has anyone shot a narrative short film with this camera ?

I checked on vimeo and youtube, but didn't see any.

Cheers.

I'm a little late coming to this party, but if you combine the excellent OIS of the Panasonic cameras with Mercalli V2 Stabilization in post, you can get tripod-like results. This was shot with a TM700 and was meant as test for Mercalli zooming & border filling - however if you look at the right half, you can see how steady the result is.
