I saw an ad on the internet somewhere for a new Panasonic 3CCD shoulder mounted camcorder.

It has 3x 1/4 chips and records AVCHD to an SD-like card.

Can anyone tell me the model name or show me a picture of it?

Thanks,

Probably the AG-HMC70. It's a low-cost entry-level HD camcorder, basically the same camera as the HSC1U but put into a shoulder-mount body.

Thanks Barry.

Does the cards with this camera record the image as an .avi?

Thanks

Just saw them

Hey, dude!

Just saw the HMC70 at a trade show and it's pretty bad ass. SD cards cost 16 bucks and are 4 gigs and will record 320 minutes on Extended Record. Picture was very sharp, color looked good (nice Panny monitor at the show, of course) and detail was clean.

Problem is, no way for an adaptor to fit on it, so you're stuck with the same problems every DV camera has, bottomless depth of focus. Couldn't tell how it handled low light. Menu was simpler than DVX/HVX.

Sound mixer duties were much simpler to handle on this camera, two XLR imputs, two outputs, two adjuster knobs, phone jack, that's it.

Very very nice camera for $2195...and the media, like I said, holds a LOT of minutes for 16 bucks.
