Panasonic SD Cards are unreliable

I've had one panasonic card fail on me. All of my transcends have never.

It's actually kind of funny.. I highly valued my Panasonic card so I would always use my Transcend cards hundreds of times.. then the 5th time or so I used my Panasonic card cause it was an important project it failed.

Just so we can put a picture to the music :violin:

My failure happened on a new 16GB Class 6 Panasonic card. I got the dreaded 'check card' warning in the camcorder, and it wouldn't mount on my Macs. After fiddling with the erase-lock switch on the side a few times it worked again, but after a couple of months it stopped working again.

How many clips did you lose? Did you lose everything on the card?

How do the clients feel about this ? Could they ask you to use a tape camera?
You would think an SDHC maker would see potential in this market and offer a Pro Video grade card, with some kinda claim of 100% quality. Charge double for it, then show your clients you use the best card money can buy. ??

I've not had a card fail on me..yet... but I also shoot shorter bursts, nothing more than a few minutes at a time. Hopefully any error is just a single file issue.

Oh I just have to say it.....the most reliable possible memory scheme is P2. But everybody bitches about the cost.....

Panasonic has the class 10 Gold that one is indestructible and has never failed to me under the most stressing circumstances . Even P2 Now is going to the SD Factor, check this
