Panasonic Promotion, Blu-ray Player, Has Yours Arrived?

I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten their Blu-ray player yet?

For me it's just over 8 weeks....

bump .... has ANYONE gotten theirs? I have never had to wait this long for anything before and am starting to wonder what is going on ... if the player will ever come. Grrrr.

I am at 10 weeks and nothing. When I called the rebate center, they said "it is in process".

This is a pretty good way to pissoff a group of loyal customers.

If it is anything like the DVX rebate way back when with berry book and Magic bullet I totally fogot about it and one day I was surprised to see a little package in the mail, must have take 3 months easily, so long ago I cant remember.

Some have received their Blu-Ray players. Panasonic Promotion, HMC40 & Blu-ray Player thread page 3

The rebates, be it for products or cash back, tend to take much much longer than is given.

We checked with the group that process the rebates a few weeks ago about the Blu-Ray HMC40 rebate specifically, and they said the product itself is also having backorder / availability issues. When that happened with the P2 card HVX200 rebate, there was a very long wait for the free P2 cards.

Patience is the key...

Yup, Spec-Comm's got it right. I just called the phone # yesterday and spoke to a pretty nice representative who verified that it's coming, but currently on back-order.

This is one area I believe should be regulated.

I just don't like the idea of a rebate. Put in the box, or offer a discount, but don't make people wait for months.

I think it should be regulated, but I don't mind the wait as long as it is not much longer than what is promised in the rebate form. I sent mine in early January, and the first time I called in March they told me that they had received my rebate in late January. When I told the rep that I had a delivery confirmation number saying that they had received it on 1/6, they told me that because it's sent to a PO Box they got it in late January. Well, that's the first sign of how stupid these people are. Did I send it to a PO Box because I wanted to? No, because that was the address on the rebate form.

And I already called four times, and every time I get the same answer, that the player is on backorder, blah, blah, blah. Well, that's what should be regulated, if you sell a product with a rebate and it says 6 to 8 weeks, then don't tell customers that the players are on backorder four months after they sent the rebate. And also, that backorder is a load of crap, I'm sure that retail stores are getting plenty of Panasonic Blu-Ray players.
