Is it safe to mix these different kinds of panasonic tapes in a dvx100b? I heard all panasonic tapes are dry and i also heard Amq are wet and PQ tapes are dry. I searched a bunch of forums and it seems like everyone just goes along with everyone and no one really knows for sure. Does anyone have any proving evidence telling its safe to mix or not mix those tapes thank you.

dvc EJ Tapes

DVM PQ Tapes

DVM AMQ Tapes

you can mix any panny tapes with eachother but i think you have the pq and amq backwords its the amq's that are dry and the pq that are wet, so dont mix those.

Im not sure i heard the PQ are dry and Amq are wet....and ive heard all panny tapes are dry. It seems like no one really knows for sure. Does anyone have real document/edvidence that proves what is what?

PQ and AMQ tapes are both dry, so there are no worries mixing the two. I wouldn't go any cheaper than PQ tapes, though.

i use amq but incase of an emergency amq's are not found at just any corner store. whats a good tape to buy in a jam at any corner store?

it sounds like we can mix the aq and pq tapes. not sure if mixing in anything else is a good idea so i guess ill just stock up on amq tapes.

You'd figure if panny only makes dry tapes you should be able to mix the ej and amq but id try to limit the use of ej only cuz the amq are such a good quality tape.

>.< you can use any panny tape with any other panny tape. You shouldn't mix pnannys with sonys.

I recently switched to sony tapes, and I cleaned my heads prior to that. They work fine and are more avalible where I live for much less then the panny AMQ or PQ. I'm using the premiums.
