That's a terribly muddy shot, most noticeably on the trees! How disappointing...
However, it's only 15.7Mbps VBR. Why did you shoot interlaced?
 
I was mislead by mediainfo, I can see it's actually 30p wrapped inside 60i.
Keeping the muddy part, though... but it could be the lens, as most mud appears on the trees, and they are peripheral.
What lens did you use?


P.S.: It was unsensitive of me to imply you may have made a bad purchase. Too harsh of a sentence... My apologies.
 
Could you reshoot some files with the 1080p @ 24 FPS setting. That is the higher quality setting. The one you used is the lower bit rate 1080i setting. Are we sure this is really 1080p @ 30 FPS embedded in 1080i. That is not what Panasonic is claiming the file does or what any of the pre-production files showed.
 
Nevermind, I just inspected the file myself and it is definitely true 1080i/60. It has interlaced artifacts galore.
