What's the difference between having the switch and not having it?

No idea, I was just responding to this question.

Does it have the MEGA OIS switch?

Actually I don't think there is a 14-42mm lens with a OIS switch. There is this one that I have for sale, the 14-42mm that is a powered zoom (and about pancake size when closed) and the newer 14-45mm lens that is about the size of this, but that does have a OIS switch but goes to 45mm not 42mm on the long end.
