Panasonic LA7200 on a GH1(3)

Seems like a lot of people are grabbing up the anamorphic adapter options floating around. The LA7200 looks like it's the most popular. Just got mine today. I'd like this thread to reflect my experiences in working with it.

First off: the thread on the back of the adapter is recessed. I went to my local pro shop today to buy a 52mm (my lens) to 72 (LA7200) step-up ring in anticipation of getting my adapter, but it won't grab hold of it.

Anyone have a simple, elegent solution to this?

Fit a 77 to 72 step down ring on the back of your lens. This way you overcome the recessed thread issue and you transform the thread of your lens to 77mm. You now need step up rings for your lenses. For instance a 52 to 77 mm for a 52mm thread lens and there you go.
The lens works for apertures of f:4 or smaller (larger f) and for focal lengths between 16 and 60mm on a cropped size sensor. Outside of these limits you get blur or vignetting. It is a good solution giving nice cold flares however you miss some of the nice features of other anamorphics (see elliptical bokeh). All in all it's good.
Post some footage here.
