Panasonic HVX200 & HD Blog

Tosh, you're real! Or are you.... I still believe you're;

A.) Jan under a pen name, forced at gunpoint to join the blog-o-sphere.

B. ) A sophisticated computer algorithm that processes all technical and personal info of the various members on Dvxuser and spits out what I call "Average Speak".

3.) Tosh spelled backwards is Hsot, which is Hungry Slaves of Toshiba, a group well known for publishing dis-information about Panasonic products.

Very skeptical...

Oh, I wouldn't bet on that if I were you! You may remember, I have friends in Japan :)

How surreal is this! Panasonic expects us to converse with a marketing plan. Kudos to the ad agent who thunk this up. The height of clever. I suppose the idea of getting answers from a real person is just so passe. (damn, I think I just responded to "it")

I thought Jan was doing a great job. (please don't tell me Jan is actually a cyborg)

I am just messing with you guys. This is wells.

I will say, that as a regular contributor to this forum, I think the Tosh idea makes sense. Here's why: defperception.com provides a direct link to the top people at Panasonic anonymously. This is good because it seems like Jan is constantly shuffling emails to the right people and it takes a long time to get questions answered, and then people quote everything she says. People call her a celebrity and all sorts of other nonsense. I'll probably ask "Tosh" questions myself because it'll be a more direct route to getting my questions answered accurately, with the benefit of the responses posted for others to see. Newbies will especially like "Tosh" because it'll help them become familiar with the tech and allow a freedom to ask "dumb" questions without being ridiculed.

Call it a marketing machine if you want, but I think they want to stimulate questions with it, not distribute propaganda. Propaganda is the BS you read on CamcorderInfo by Kerr Cook.

Again, this is not Tosh, and this not from Panasonic. This is from Brian.

Er... "Tosh" is also short for Toshiba, so you may have gone the long way around to get to that one... :thumbsup:

So wait, the DefPerception site is like a "Reality Show" or like a faux blog?

I guess I don't get the "Tosh Bilowski is a fictional character used to deliver real information..."

Is it to make the user feel like they are getting a personal experience? Not to dis the site but it is a 'bit' pretentious. I guess I'm liking the community feel of the DVXUser atmosphere rather than talking to 1, all-knowing entity. At least 'Tosh' admits it and that they state it is entertainment. But why should I take this seriously?

If it'll make their customers feel like they are getting good customer service, then what the hell?! Why not. Blog! hahahha... :thumbsup: right.

I suppose it's a new twist on the old corporate theme of having "real" characters delivering "fictional" information?
