I shot this with the 12-35mm + GH3. https://vimeo.com/100058186
for photographyFor photography or for video? Or both? I'd say the tokina 11-16 or new 11-20 coupled with a spoedbooster would be a better choice.
My 12-35 is a bit more "stiff" than my 25, but it's still very smooth and not hard to spin or anything. I can definitely turn it with one finger, though it's easier with two (and I usually always use two anyways since I hold the camera grip in my right hand and my left hand is grabbing the lens). If you feel like yours is very stiff though, and not smooth, then you might want to send it in just to be sure? Or at least get your hands on another one at a camera shop or something so you can compare it to yours. It's hard to say if there's a problem with yours just on the description.Quick question for those who are using the 12-35.
On mine, the focus ring is stiff.
On my other panny lenses, (35-100 2.8, 25 1.4) the focus rings are smooth as butter.
I can move them with 1 finger. I never have to remove my hands from the camera body.
Just a fingertip will rotate it.
On the 12-35, however, I have to use thumb and forefinger and rotate with my wrist.
Is anybody else's like this?
Its still under warranty, but need to know if it's just a characteristic of this particular lens.
Hate to send it out and be without it for a couple weeks if it's normal.
Thanks.
(P.s. I also started a thread on this subject)
Thanks again
I think you should look at the new Kowa Prominar 8.5mm f/2.8. Wider than the Tokina and ultra sharp and low CA.

No distortion at all.Is there much rectilinear distortion in squared-up shots?

Looks like the perfect fast WA for GH4 4K, with an EFL of about 21-22mm - and appears it takes filters too!
