GH4 Panasonic FZ1000 limited to 4G file size during 4K recording?

The time listed hereis the total battery life using each recording codec, it has nothing to do with the 29min59sec limit, the later is purely enforced to save Panasonic tax money paid to authorities!

Perhaps, though in Australia there are fair trading laws that make it illegal for businesses to advertise features that a product is incapable of realising. If the cameras has a 30min limitation then it is required to be disclosed in the official specifications. This is not just an airy fairy thing. If a consumer complains then there are fees and penalties for such misleading declarations.

The tax law applicable to Europe is not enforceable in other territories. Panasonic is not saving money by limiting recording duration in this market.

I already have 2 Panasonics GH3.

The question still stands. Can anyone know for sure if the Panasonic FZ1000, recently introduced model which will be out in retail stores soon, has the capability to record CONTINUALLY on the memory card installed in the camera, a scene duration, without any pauses/stops/interruptions/ OVER the time duration of 29 minutes 59 seconds disregarding the battery duration limitation on this model IF PURCHASED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ???

YES or NO ???

The camera has not been released yet. It appears from the current information that there is indeed a limit to recording time in the US NTSC model. There also seems to be some allusion that this is only for 4K recording, but until there is more clarity or someone gets the camera, it's impossible to know for sure (unless you can get a hold of someone from Panasonic that has absolute knowledge of the issue).

Your user information says New York. Why are you worrying about the EU tax situation?

That's EXACTLY what I am worried about. That I am in USA New York, and I shouldn't have to worry about duration time limit because of the EU tax.
Right ?

I'm beginning to suspect that this is Panasonic trying to keep regional sales regional. This way there is no incentive for European buyers to look to the USA.

Pure speculation on my part.

Well, for one thing, if Panasonic has that time limitation length here in US, I am not interested in buying. I will look at other brand(s).

I dont know why, but it looks like time limitation will be the new ''feature'' in all brands regardless of region! Sony A7S has it, even in the US models...:(

Sony's an odd duck so I wouldn't draw conclusions based on their specs.

When I spoke with them about the lack of shutter speeds/angles on the FS700 that would allow 24p in countries with 50 Hz Line Frequency without flicker their response was they don't offer such features on a camera in this price category. Meanwhile most any dSLR or mirror-less camera does, including their own.
