I do like the images.

For clarification, I'm talking about the SLR Magic APO Hyperprine 25/50/85mm T2.1 lenses.
Both photos taken with my EOS 6D. 85mil on the bottom, I believe that the first is the 25mil. Both are most likely at T2.8 since T2.1 is a bit soft. These images have been downsampled from the original 50MP (11K??) raw files and further compressed by the internet and such.
Breathing: I haven't noticed much, but I haven't used them much for motion pictures since I really don't have a camera that'll take them just yet (cough, EVA1, cough). I guess I should look into that. They work on my BMCC, they're just, ya know, really tight on that camera. The 25mil works well on BMCC, though. It's also the smoothest of my lot. The others are stiff. The 85 is REALLY stiff. Not sure if that's just mine, or if they're all like that. I bet they're not. I haven't really tested the lenses, per se. Except, of course, on these photoshoots. They are, in a way, exquisite. They feel nice in the hands, the rings are smooth and have a nice long throw. I have an inexpensive follow focus unit that works just fine with them.
With all the lens talk I think this one might be missed. Any word on the answers to this question Mitch?
To be honest. I'd be OK with two channels on this camera.
What is the focus throw like on the Milvus lenses? Is it stupid DSLR short, more cine-like with 200-300 degrees or somewhere in between? Do you hand focus or have a follow focus?
The throw is actually pretty decent but varies a bit lens to lens; if memory serves from around 200-275 degrees. They have a nice feel / resistance to them by hand and I do run a follow focus on them as well.
no actually it's to match the DVX200, since it's in that cameras family, I suspect the bodies may have been designed by the same person
Thanks for the feedback Jeremey!
dual iso will be 800 and some number between 800 and 5000 with it not being quite as high as the Varicam due to the larger resolution of the sensor. Still excited to see more from this camera.
3200 then... Dual ISO with 800/1600 would border on pointless. I guess it could be 2500 if they go for partial stops but I'm hoping they can pull at least 3200 then. Guess we'll see!
And Mitch, I don't know if this was answered already, but will the raw from the EVA1 be supported on the O7Q?
also, editing this to say: thank you, thank you, thank you, for including TC sync on this camera. It's the number one deal breaker for me in this price bracket. No TC sync equals no purchase.
Re: Milvus lenses
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the EF mount versions have aperture control rings like the Nikon mount ones do. Something important to keep in mind.
How about a surprise feature of internal bursts of 4K/120p to really get that extra edge? Raven says it's okay and the others were fine with it. :dankk2:

You will have to ask Convergent Design about that. Atomos announced that it will support the EVA1's 5.7K RAW output.
Yeah, timecode in/out is such an overlooked but important function.
Just jumping in here to say that I'm stoked on this camera. I really like the look of the new Varicam line, so if this matches, then it's almost a slam dunk for me. If image & build are up to it, I think this camera will be the C300 replacement that the C300 mark II should have been. My biggest hope is that they make that EF mount solid as hell, or even better, a positive lock version.
