What is the alternative to recording Cinema Raw?
What is the alternative to recording Cinema Raw?
"Far more practical than the C200"...... ? As someone who has attempted to work with raw, Canons "Raw-light" seems far more practical. The only thing this camera has over the C200 is 10 bit 422, but you can get that with an external recorder. Personally, I could careless about a 5.7 sensor. Raw-light is the future, not more resolution.
Agreed...don't what was happening as the streaming keep getting interrupted...and none I see felt inspired.Sorry... But that was a horrible presentation.
Easy for me...like the specs...not the mount and media...but it's so beyond the canons it's not funnyTuned in a bit late, does it have an eye piece/EVF? I didn't catch that portion or see anything that showed it having one.
All in all, quite interesting. It's a difficult decision between this and the C200 for me as I'm more event work oriented.
SD cards. Interesting. Wonder what requirements on those cards.
Agreed...this is already more than enough leaving the c100 in the dust...but the lens release button...belong obpn a $400 camBased on specs alone I'd take the Panny model over the Canon.
Canon needs that 10bit XF-AVC like yesterday.
not in 4k
Until they make affordable Terabyte CF cards, Raw is impracticable for most shooting. Especially with one CF slot forcing you to stop recording every 15 minutes just to swap cards.
Calm down people... sheesh calling people noobs/amateur is un-professional.. lmao
Which begs the follow up question....
Why EF mount?
14 stops will be great?..LT is more like 15+Mitch said they are still developing the sensor specs and tuning so he didn't quote ISO, or dynamic range, other than to say it will have dual ISO like the Varicams and that it will have Varicam colors. A good guess would be 13 stops but could be more?
If you'll allow me a superficial criticism-
I really hate the red trim.
Agreed. Ugly, & cheap looking.
Even though I own a bunch of Canon glass, I'm very disappointed by the EF mount. Was hoping for m4/3, & Fuji offering compatible MK zooms.
Still it's an interesting camera, & would be a serious contender if I didn't already own a FS7. The proof will be in the image, so perhaps I could still be a buyer.
Does sound like desperation to me...though I'm more dissapointed with certain things than I wanted to be...this is not the camera for me, but nothing to do with the 5 month till release tine...the next few weeks and months will now roll out but no preorder considered hereYeah, it kinda smacks of desperation to announce a camera so far away from actual production/drop date. Of course we know Panasonic is desperate. I also wonder about their commitment to the micro four thirds format at this point. Certainly there's going to be a big segment of GHxxx users who aren't going to be super happy about this. For those wanting to use the Eva along w/ the GH5 as a a/b package, this is bad news. As in, they might not buy the GH5 now. So an interesting call.
But in one way I suppose it's Panasonic admitting reality - MFT in a $1,00 to $2,000 body is one thing, in a $7,000+ video camera, it's quite another. The AF100 will remain a one time experiment. I remain interested in this new camera, yet because of the various uncertainties, I can't wait for it. All in all a bit strange, esp considering that this is the same company that dropped a fully capable/amazing, GH5 on the market.
