Canon just got some non-consensual rectal intercourse without any appropriate lubrication. I wonder what they are thinking right now?
they are thinking XF-AVC 10 bit 422. That's what they are thinking.

It certainly struck me as odd. I think what they're going for is they want people to call it the "Eva", just like folks refer to the "Alexa".
He said evf can be supplied by 3rd parties. If I can paraphrase him, Panasonic thinks lower price, more battery time, less weight/bulk, better packaging were important features for many users. Those that need an evf can certainly get one, but why penalize everyone with this feature.

Canon said:It's only 2017, are you sure that isn't an overkill for most productions?
Because on a 2lbs camera, youre going to need that point of contact for handheld work. And It's nicer when that point of contact is built into the camera.
So on paper this looks great. 10bit 4:2:2 internal, Raw output, and dual native ISO of 800 & 5000, all of which makes this camera far more practical than the C200. If this new sensor can produce an image comparable to the Varicam (as promised) than I'm sold. He did say that there are more features to be announced over the summer. I have a feeling that they might be holding out on something special to generate interest closer to release. If not, its still a perfect camera for me if the IQ holds up.
Right now the only appeal the C200 has for me is the AF, but despite being cool & useful I've always worked without it just fine so I don't feel a need for it. A robust codec that can record longer than 15 minutes is far more valuable to me.
If you'll allow me a superficial criticism-
I really hate the red trim.
The only thing this camera has over the C200 is 10 bit 422, but you can get that with an external recorder.
You seem to be hung up on color of things.
I really hate the red trim.
I would prefer 'Jessica' or something that rolls off the tip of the tongue.
You would never forget Panasonic's 'Jessica'.
As someone who has attempted to work with raw, Canons "Raw-light" seems far more practical.
You're not the first amateur video hobbyist to say that about me.
You find the C200 $1,000 per hour of RAW recording far more practical ?
