Canon just got some non-consensual rectal intercourse without any appropriate lubrication. I wonder what they are thinking right now?

they are thinking XF-AVC 10 bit 422. That's what they are thinking.

It certainly struck me as odd. I think what they're going for is they want people to call it the "Eva", just like folks refer to the "Alexa".

I would prefer 'Jessica' or something that rolls off the tip of the tongue.

You would never forget Panasonic's 'Jessica'.

He said evf can be supplied by 3rd parties. If I can paraphrase him, Panasonic thinks lower price, more battery time, less weight/bulk, better packaging were important features for many users. Those that need an evf can certainly get one, but why penalize everyone with this feature.

Because on a 2lbs camera, youre going to need that point of contact for handheld work. And It's nicer when that point of contact is built into the camera.

Wow, this sounds like a winner. If it has the Varicam look and the footage delivers, I could see not wanting an upgrade for a long, long time. Perfect size, too. A nice bridge between a GH5 and a large beast of a camera.

So on paper this looks great. 10bit 4:2:2 internal, Raw output, and dual native ISO of 800 & 5000, all of which makes this camera far more practical than the C200. If this new sensor can produce an image comparable to the Varicam (as promised) than I'm sold. He did say that there are more features to be announced over the summer. I have a feeling that they might be holding out on something special to generate interest closer to release. If not, its still a perfect camera for me if the IQ holds up.

Right now the only appeal the C200 has for me is the AF, but despite being cool & useful I've always worked without it just fine so I don't feel a need for it. A robust codec that can record longer than 15 minutes is far more valuable to me.

"Far more practical than the C200"...... ? As someone who has attempted to work with raw, Canons "Raw-light" seems far more practical. The only thing this camera has over the C200 is 10 bit 422, but you can get that with an external recorder. Personally, I could careless about a 5.7 sensor. Raw-light is the future, not more resolution.

I worked without DPAF as well, and all was great, that is until I got DPAF, now cant live without it. There is nothing about this camera that is remotely interesting.
