I wish more info was available!! Really wondering what sensor size (S35 vs M43??).

Could it be a video engineered M43 sensor just so all gear and lenses could work between GH5 and this? Or the never to be, speculated about S35 sensor with an m43 mount that could be cleverly switched (sort of like JVC's entry)? If it was a backlit M43 sensor engineered with larger pixel size that could be really interested. If it did 4K 60p 10bit 4:2:2 that would be reasonable in larger size/better CPU and bandwidth, and pretty killer.

Built in NDs and XLR seem inevitable. Hopefully a large high res LCD screen.

** BUT **

The picture seems to show a Sigma ART lens on it with no adaptor... so this might be an even more LT version of the Varicam LT...

Exciting!!!! did NOT see this coming.

Will be shown in more detail June 1st at Cine Gear Expo.

...So you've got a week and a month to find out more.

My guess based upon the camera silhouette in the image is that it will be a S35 camera that will use beefed up versions of the new GH5 tech.

4K 10-bit 4:2:2 is a given, with internal frame rates up to 60p. Same goes for 10-bit 1080p. Slow-motion will be up to 1080 240p.

What would be really great, but something Panasonic hasn't been able to deliver in their GHx line is focus punch-in while recording. Would be nice to confirm focus on the camera display.

I also hope Panasonic will share CODEC development between the GH5 and this new camera, so both cameras keep getting better over time. ( no problem from me if these are paid firmware upgrades )

I think if you take a really good look at that lens, I mean a really good look, you can probably deduce what lens it is :)

Sigma Art.. if so, the camera will be EF mount ; is this possible ??
Edit: yes possible, the varicam has an EF mount.

Hmmm... It's a pretty good match for the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.0 ART lens, but without the front shade. ( but the front element of this lens is very curved so it would be very visible if the shade was removed )

The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens does not look like the Panasonic image does...

Maybe this is a brand new Sigma ART lens ?

Looks like this lens to me: https://bhpho.to/2n0i0KW

Meaning it's almost definitely a m43 GH5 sensor in a pro body with ND, SDI, XLR.

I also first thought it looked a bit like a sigma art 18-35 but realized it didn't look right with those angular edges. Also I couldn't imagine they'd further cannibalize their Varicam35 by making their V35 sensor available in yet another smaller cheaper camera. The LT already seems like it fits most needs better than the bulky and expensive V35...

The rings are too close on that 8-18mm, and the lens on the camera appears to have the silver Sigma ART badge.

I wonder if this could be a S35 version of the PanaLeica 8-18mm lens ? ( or a very similar lens design )

The PanaLeica lens is not a perfect match to the image, but I never thought about an S35 version of that lens.

New thought...

What if this is a new Sigma ART Micro 4/3 lens ? ( it looks a lot like the other Sigma ART lenses, but it does not match them perfectly )
