I've been thinking that running the Panasonic app for the GH4 would be dead useful on a tablet on location. As a cameraperson,, I can use the camera's panel as a viewfinder and the director can watch on the tablet screen with the app. So, I've been considering getting a tablet or, better, a two-in one: that way, I can use the laptop part as an on-site disk backup for the footage, to log the footage, maybe even do some rudimentary editing. (I don't need full features of a field monitor, like LUTs or precise color representation.)
Here's the issue. The Panasonic app runs under Android. But most laptops and 2-in-1s run Windows. (I'm not a Mac user, so please, don't suggest I get one.) Has anyone tried using the Panasonic app in an Android emulator (like Andy)? Does it work? Or would a dual-boot system be preferable or necessary?
