Im not going to weigh into the debate about should the ISO's be more easily switched, if real world users want it... - just a FYI, plugging the AF100 into a Pana Pro Plasma through HD-SDI and testing all the ISO settings I found through all exposure levels that 800ISO was cleaner than 500 or 640.

In that case, I'd like to request a feature that disables all noisy ISO's :) Seriously, why are they there if they're not useful? Even still, assuming 5 prime iso's, we're still 2 positions short, the wheel would be nice.

Why is there no '1:1 - zoom in focus aid' in the poll - this would be my number 1 choice

- Would love to see the imaging chain resolve a complete 1080p image, ie 1000+ lines. EX cams and new Canon video cams can do it... wish the AF was doing it.

- More extensive image control like the EX or F3. A custom color profile you create like in the canon DSLRs would be great. EX1 is comparable in price yet has much higher control over image. Canon cams are priced well below and you can customize your curve to whatever you want.

- Better highlight roll-off with no ugly yellow... would love this to be fixed with firmware. I know this has been a characteristic of lower cost panny cams, but it appears to be worse than the HVX200.

Rumor has it that Vitaly is in the process of hacking the AF and he may actually be working on some of these suggestions. Anyone know what he's up to?

I also believe it a huge handicap having to navigate into the menu to adjust ISO, while that beautiful function wheel on the back of the camera sits there idly, hardly ever used at all. I don't understand how they could have missed that need in the design stage. If you want to shoot at a constant DOF, or change lenses frequently, and someone is PAYING you for your time to do these things, then it is critical to have fast access to that function.

PANASONIC:, and Jan: Please look in to putting an ISO adjustment into the option of the rear function wheel! I fear I will wear out that little menu joystick if you don't! ;-)

Does seem like a simple adjustment.... the GRID lines go across the whole screen. the 2.35 lines should be able to as well.

What would I like to see in the next incarnation?

- Being able to see beyond the 1920x1080 in the viewfinder (Like a film camera's viewfinder);
- Better handling of clipped chroma;
- 10 bit on the spigot;
- "Hidden" Color gain controls for LCD;
- Better noise performance;
- Bigger "REC" LED, maybe even flashing;
- 1:1 mode for focus;
- Eliminate the Detail bar under the audio meters;
- Faster "FORMAT" execution;
- One "door" for all rear connectors;
- Electrically isolated HDMI connection (yes, I've had interference injected into the data stream via HDMI);

Thank you for all we've gained in this new tool.

I will never understand this one!

How does it slow you down?

I imagine he's thinking having more choices at the ready. If you have ever used a Dslr to shoot video, you get used to having your iso at a fingers touch. This way you dont have to stop and take the time to dig through menues. It's just like bam 800 iso, at a fraction of a second

I am aware thats how digital still photographers shoot digital video. (They can still have 800 ISO or whatever .... BAM! ....with the switch)

Lucky they never shot real film and had to do mag changes to a different ASA stock. (Which we used to do but usually because we planned our shoots around doing it at a certain time or stage)

BTW - i think its an O.K idea to have the ISO setting on the wheel as well as the other functions for those that need it. But I do wonder how confusing it will get with so many functions on it.

My wish list would include - Bigger Roll to Record Buttons and On/Off Switch.

The .MTS filenames should not be re-used until the counter reset is used. As it is, when you delete clip 00006.mts for example the next clip recorded will be 00006.mts.

It would also be nice to be able to have 60Hz and 50Hz on the same card. I shoot 25p, but for extra slomo when lights aren't an issue I want to shoot 60p.

For the record, I have never, ever shot video with a DSLR, I absolutely refused to go that route. I waited, patiently, for the AF100 to ship.
