Panasonic About To Raise Prices?

A little bird told me today that Panasonic may be raising prices early next year due to the falling dollar.

Anybody confirm that?

The dollars is pretty low now, and I'm wondering if this likely or just rumored.

Canada is not plus 10% and it used to be minus 35%.

I just wish someone from Panny would chime in.

Would totally make sense if they were going to raise the prices. The dollar is sucking wind worse than I have ever seen it. My last trip to the U.K. was an eye opening experience as far as how tough it is to travel when you have to change your dollars for foreign currency.

I just got back from Australia a few weeks ago. The Aussie dollar used to be worth about 65 US cents. While I was there I think it almost reached parity, maybe 98 US cents to the aussie dollar. The dollar's incredibly weak right now.

Makes it awfully easy to sell to people outside the country, but as for buying imported goods, it hurts us pretty bad.

One stop to the bank? It really is hard, eh?

Will the prices ever go down in Canada in comparison to the US prices? I understand volume and sales numbers, but the difference in price today for many popular items (electronics, boats, cars, snowmobiles) is to high.... retailers in Canada are now offering US pricing to keep buyers within the border.

Im going to shop in the states and ask for my change in canadian currency :D

Canadian prices haven't dropped?.

They Have came down in the past few months, but in line with the US reductions. Right now it is $ 4,999 Canadian. So I guess thats fair... the dollars (US &CAN) fluctuate so much that it would be hard to predict.

Im not sure why I'm even interested in this topic.... it's not like I'm going to buy another hvx :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):
