Panasonic 1760 17" LCD Monitor question

I've worked with Panasonic's 17" BT-LH1700 LCD monitor many times, but am about to use the 1760 on a job.

I assume a Canon 7D with a simple HDMI to DVI cable will work on it.

But can I pass that signal through to any of the other ports (SDI, Component, etc...)?

Also, is there any advantage to converting HDMI to SDI or will HDMI to DVI suffice?
