PAL PROJECT - Shooting Format - Output to ?? What is au currant in Europe?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge here, but I've worked exclusively in the US since the mid 70s and I'd like to broaden my horizons.
I did produce an industrial short in March for a London based client, but it was for web and computer distribution... shot 720 30p and delivered MOV, FLV, H264, and AVI files to client in various resolutions.

I've been asked for a proposal to be shot in Europe... it's an industrial. I know the AF will shoot PAL as an "International Camera"...
What I'd like to know is: do most Euro clients play PAL Blue Ray... if there is such a thing...
The deliverables will be a 10 min version for exhibition and a 3 min version for presentations. I assume the presentations will be played from a computer. I'm not sure what the longer version will be played on... I assume it will be Blue Ray or DVD... or whatever the current flavor is.
If I shoot in PAL, I can edit in Premier, but will it be as good/better to shoot in PAL or convert.
Typically, I shoot 1080 30p.

Thanks so much for everything I've gleaned over the years and thanks in advance for anyone who has anything helpful to offer.

Best Regards

hey there,

we play most stuff in 25p or 50p
no interlacing.

1080p25 is really ok.

blueray should not be a problem nowadays

maybe you should check if the 25p framerate flickers with your power grid

good luck

Don't forget that in HD there is no such thing as PAL and NTSC, just different frame rates.

Shooting at 1080 25p will be fine for web/DVD use in Europe, and as the last poster mentioned, if you are shooting in the US at 25p frame rate you can avoid any flicker from light units by shooting with a 1/60th shutter.

Thanks for the feedback... after consideration, we have decided to pass on the project... we only were notified yesterday and it starts Tuesday... definitely not enough lead time... and there are multiple simultaneous locations to be covered... unforseen delays and too many "tbd" (to be determined) factors to budget for... at least on short notice.

Here is the info we received in case someone over there wants to pitch it.
Best of Luck

Project outline
With the award of the contract to our company we decided to produce an image film due to three reasons:
1. The foundation of the metmast is a twisted jacket which is the first one of its kind installed in Europe
2. The met mast for the zone Hornsea is the first one to be installed of Round 3
3. This met mast marks the start of the Hornsea zone development.

Thus HOCHTIEF ordered an image film with a maximum length of ten minutes to be shown at exhibitions and a short version of maximum three minutes for the use within presentations.

The following table shows the film sequences to be taken (as of today):

At this stage of the project we can still add/amend the film sequences to your requirments and needs.
