P2CMS for G4

Am I missing something? If so please excuse me... The G4 Powerbook have the slot for the P2 (no need for a Duel) yet the P2CMS download from Panny says it only runs on Intel Macs... Yet in examining the older threads I see folks referring to it on their G4s...

So - I just put the 170 into the workflow... I have a shoot this week... Tested dragging and dropping... all works ok, but I would love the data check security offered by P2CMS. Plus it would be nice to format the P2 on the G4 (the P2 format utility is only Windows, as far as I can tell)

Any thoughts? Is there an older version of P2CMS I can find?

Thanks in advance...

I never really did figure out how to use P2CMS.
I use Shotput Pro it offloads, verifies and formats the cards for me. Never had any problems. Course, it's not free but P2CMS never made any sense to me.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll look at ShotPut Pro...

Usually manufactures s/w is lacking in usablity... :-)

P2CMS is much more complex than ShotPut Pro. ShotPut Pro is designed to offload cards. P2CMS is designed primarily to be a contents management system and as such it's not nearly as intuitive. But it's also free.

Sorry to piggyback on a thread that's been dead for awhile, but is a PowerPC version of P2CMS available for download somewhere. The Panny site only has the Intel Mac version. I'd love to use P2CMS on my Powerbook G4.

Any help is appreciated- thanks!

That version will work on your G4, although Panny says otherwise. I use P2CMS on an ancient G4 450mhz and a G5 quad.
