P2 to Firestore?

Ok,

I know I'm reaching here, but is there a way I can use my HVX to send P2 video to my firestore? I have just discovered that Snow Leopard does not and will not work with my Duel Adapter system. I have a project with video on it, and I don't have a way to get it off my P2 cards!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Lawrence

That's an idea. . . I'll give that a try next. Someone also came up with the idea of installing 10.5 (where the Duel Adapter drivers still worked) to an extrenal drive, then booting to that drive when I need to transfer. I'm working on that one now. But it'd be a lot easier if I could somehow connect the FW direct to my computer and see those files. I don't think that works, though. Otherwise Panasonic would have a more difficult time selling $2000 card readers.

Thanks,

Lawrence

you can. your camera serves as a firewire OR usb device. its a feature of the cam, not some wonky work-around

WAY easier than booting off an external or reinstalling your OS...

i would though, unless you NEED something that snowleopard does. erase your internal and just install leopard as the OS.

That's GREAT news! I've been sitting here banging my head with technical difficulties on my external drive. I'm going to get my camera out, hook up and see my footage. Thanks guys!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but this information is pretty well detailed in the manual.

Both USB and Firewire Connect modes

do consult your manual or search the forum if you have problems. this is fundamental knowledge an hvx owner should have

I agree. Feel bad about that, but I must admit that I've been using the Duel Adapter for so long, I really just don't remember that feature (the Duel Adapter was handy for hot swapping). Of course, I'm sure I saw it as I did go through the manual (and a couple of instructional DVDs on the camera), but since I didn't remember it, I guess I got thinking it just wasn't a feature. But I do appreciate you guys reminding me!
