Up to now, P2 has been out of the question for me due to the sky-high prices. However with 16 gig cards coming in under £600, it is starting to look do-able. Now, my laptop (Which is also my desktop, I really am that hard-up), has an expresscard slot, so I would need to buy another L/T.
So, looking in the manual, there ia a route to offloading cards onto external drives, so I'm thinking, Record onto P2, dump onto 2 drives, one for work, one for archive, then ? Import into an already set up project with the footage on an eSATA drive? Or direct from the Firewire drive, or what?
Oh, sorry, the L/T is a PC not Mac and I'm PAL so 720pn is out until I update my Xpress Pro
Any advice and warnings of pitfalls would be welcome.
