P2 Store not being regonized by Windows

Hopefully someone out there has experienced this or can contribute.

I've got a rented 8GB P2 Card and P2 Store...

Shot some DVCPROHD footage on the P2 Card from a HVX200. Both my laptop PC and Desktop editing system recognize the P2 Card upon insertion and I run P2 Genie which does a great job of organizing and copying the to DVD and HDD.

The P2 Store looks like it successfully copies the files from the P2 Card as expected. But when I attached the P2 Store via USB to the laptop or destop Windows sees it, but doesn't recognize it as a drive with data. P2 Viewer doesn't see it as a drive, P2 Genie doesn't like it either.

I've dumped new f/w into the P2 Store, formated/erased its HDD according to spec, repeated the processs - NOTHIN'

Anyone have any suggestions? Similar situations? Successes with the P2 Store?

Has that P2 Store been previously used on a Macintosh? There's a button-press combination you have to go through to switch it from Mac mode to PC mode; if it was left in Mac mode that might explain it.
 
The P2 Store might most recently have been rented by someone with a Mac, and be in Macintosh USB mode. The mode is remembered even when the P2 Store is powered down.

To switch between Mac and PC mode, do the following:

"Press continuously both side of keys in STATUS area and Cancel key
simultaneously until USB LED is turned to Orange. Set up is done
when USB LED is turned to orange."

A ORANGE USB LED indicates Mac mode, a GREEN USB LED indicates PC mode. The manual for the P2 Store can be downloaded from the link below:

It's remarkable how bad the Panasonic manuals and s/w is.

You'd think it would be a little more polished for the $.
