p2 problem

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I could not find it in search.

I have copied two p2 cards to my HD, I open up FCP.

It read one of the files fine, the other I get the message

"selected volume contains no valid clips"

I still have the clips on the p2 card and can watch them in the camera fine, I have tried downloading the p2 card a few times, always the same message.

Any clue what is causing this problem? Is it a hardware problem? software. I don't want to lose the clips, so I'm hesitant to erase the card and try downloading other footage.

Anyone have any clue on this one?

Your doing a File/Import/Panasonic P2 right? use the '+' to point it at the correct path.

Indy.....

P2 Log coupled with P2 Genie is a great combination.
I view my clips with P2 log and delete the clips I don't want off the P2 card. Then I use P2 Genie to copy the card over to my PowerBook and erase the P2 card.

That way, I copy over only the MXF files I want and save a little space.

Then I use P2 log to convert MXF clips to QuickTime when I need them for a project.

For less than $150, you have a great set of tools to work with P2.

Hey Indy,

Yeah that's what I'm doing, it's only happening with this one card, I have the info logged now, captured it directly off the camera, so gonna try filming again to it, and see if it works with other footage.

And on the p2 log and geenie, thanks for the info, I will check them out.
