P2 -> Pc laptop -> Format ?

Hi!
We are about to use the PAL version of HVX 200 , 2 P2 8gig cards and a P2 card reader connected to an PC laptop. I have a few questions about the workflow.

1. DO i have to dump the P2 card to an FAT-32 disk connected to the laptop or will a NTFS drive do just fine?

2. How do i format the P2 card from the laptop ? Can i just erase all of the files or will this make the P2 unusable in the camera without the folder structure?

3. Is it possible to format the P2 card from a cardreader like Panasonic AJ-PCD10 P2 READER?

4. How do you back up the 8gig cards for archive? do you split the folder structure and burn them to 2 dvds?

I know these are noob questions but we will get the camera 2 days before the shot, so i really try to gather as mutch information possible before the shot! First time users:)

Thanks in advance !

1. It doesn't matter
2. Use P2 Genie (will erase the files) or P2 Viewer (format)
3. You'll still need some software like P2 Viewer
4. Use a double-layer DVD

If you're staying all-PC, any format is fine. If you're maybe someday taking that drive to a Mac, FAT32 is a more interchangeable format than NTFS.
2. How do i format the P2 card from the laptop ?
Right-click the card icon and choose "format."

Don't do it that way. Format the card. It takes only a tenth of a second.

Probably, but by doing the same process (right-click, format). Or by using the format option from P2 Viewer.

dual-layer DVD-R would work without having to split anything up.
