P2 offloading to PC procedure sticky???

There are thousands of MAC threads but no official P2 to PC offloading thread.

Please make it a sticky for quick reference.
Even in search I didn´t find anything, only MAC.


I forgot:
Offloading procedure with P2 viewer, PCMCS, Windows Explorer.
Transfer with Explorer possible?
Deleting - how do I format on PC (or only in camera)?

Offloading procedure with P2 viewer, PCMCS, Windows Explorer.

With P2 Viewer, create a "virtual card" and then copy the clips from the card to your virtual card.

With P2CMS, just select the clips and "export" to a new folder; you can also choose the "compare" option to have it do a bit-for-bit comparison/verification after copying.

Transfer with Explorer possible?

yes, just drag the entire CONTENTS folder and the LASTCLIP.TXT file from the card to a directory on your hard disk.

Deleting - how do I format on PC?

P2 Viewer or P2CMS both have "format" options, or you can format from Explorer or My Computer. Just right-click the P2 card and choose "format".
