P2 Log 'Curse' & Raylight

When I originally bought my PAL HVX200 FCP didn't support various PAL land frame rates. The 'P2 Log' solution at the time worked fine BUT all things considered I decided not to continue with it MAINLY because (IMHO) the licensing was way too draconian.

The P2 Log stuff has been off loaded as Quicktime files which work a treat on my system with FCP (although Magic Bullet sometimes has issues) and standalone QT but are a complete nightmare when being run on other peoples systems or under other applications on my system. I get that horrible flickering blockyness.

I've now got the truely excellent Raylight and am trying to re-collect them into P2 cards so I can import and index them into P2CMS.

Unfortunately the 'P2 Log curse' has struck! Raylight creates the P2 card but on trying to import into P2cms it says in the rather strange P2cms way that the files are incomplete. Looking at the thumbnails I get that telltail 'P2 Log curse' blockiness.

PLEASE....has anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this?
Cheers

P2 Log converted your 720p50 codec blocks into 720p60 format. The only way back is to drag the P2 Log quicktimes into a FCP 6 720p50 (25p?) project, render a quicktime "same as" sequence settings (it will recompress) then drag the QT
into Raylight's new P2 Maker drawer. The resulting MXF files should be OK for P2CMS, the camera, and Raylight, not sure about other apps.

Thanks mvb, I'll give that a go in the morning :) As long as it works with Raylight/FCS/P2cms thats really all I care about at the moment

Just done that and I'm still getting the flickering blockiness on the exported quicktime.... the Apple store here in London can't seem to fix it either :(

Hmmmm... what next?

Can you send me a short sample of one of the quicktimes from P2 Log?
There is a link for uploads on our support request page

Ok Will do... I'm at work at the moment and the company firewall won't allow me to do it here. I'll pop home at lunch time and do it then.
Many thanks

OK I've uploaded a 5 second clip via the link above called 0483KP that was pulled off the HVX with P2 Log. It exibits all the problems I noted in the root message.

So far its been sat there for nearly 2 hours on a very fast connection!

Can I upload it to my .Mac account for you to collect?
