p2 loading time

The transfer of the file from the card to your computer should be roughly the same, but the processing time to take it into FCP and put it into the Quicktime container I'd imagine would speed up.
 
Your question is confusing.

p2 don't import footage.

Are you asking whether a G4 Powerbook will copy a p2 card faster than a MBP, or will FCP 6 import a p2 card and wrap to QT faster on either machine?
 
Import from P2 not importing into P2, sorry about the confusion....
I'll ask it this way.... Which will be faster to import footage that was shot on a P2 card into a external hard drive, a 1.5GHZ powerbook G4 or a 2.5GHZ mac book pro?

And now that you mentioned it.... If I want to transfer footage from MXF into QT using FCP 6 , which will be faster.
 
MBP w/duel adapter downloads twice as fast as the non-Intel chip powerbook
Full 16 gb card takes about 15min on my powerbook.
