P2 Import problems clips Idle

I have been having some problems with some clips importing with the new version of the FCP importer. I can play the clips no-problem in the view part of the importer so I know they are ok but when ever I try to import the clips I they become Idle.
This only happens with some clips and I have been getting a couple per flle that dont want to import. Has anybody had this problem? Can anybody give me some ideas on how I might fix it? I am almost thinking of re-installing an older version of FCP as I never had a problem like this with the old importer.
Here is a screen grab

Looks like I fix the problem, just installed FCP 5.1 over top of the new version and the older P2 importer work fine for all clips.
I like the newer P2 importer better with its different features and being able to view clips but I can really work with it right now if I can't get all my clips to import.
Has anybody else had this problem?

There are a ton of threads here. OS X has a P2 data bug. We're all hoping Apple will fix it really soon. In FCP, go to the FCP menu, go to the Feedback Page, tell Apple the problem you (like the rest of us) are having. It'll help push them along to improve it.

Ditto to Ben's comment-- flood Apple's feedback page with comments about the P2 import issues. I have posted several messages as well as sent the word through my various other contacts. You seem to have reached the same solution as I-- reverting to FCP 5.1.1.

In my experience, the problem has been isolated to 5.1.2. Ben has ample evidence to show that it is more wide-spread and is OS related.

What I have done is discovered a backup drive with an OS and FCp 5.1.1. I boot from that and acquire my P2 footage. I then boot back into main drive with 5.1.2 and then take advantage of the features of 5.1.2 (live scopes being among my favorite).

One more thing... may I be so bold as to suggest that with the advent of 5.1.2 (which will work one day), you take advantage of the ability to name your clips. It is lots easier to work with a named clip than with 0022OO.

And yet another thing... What size/frame rate are these clips? You might find that you could import by turning OFF the remove pulldown option, mistakenly hidden by Apple in the right-most pulldown of the top bar of the clip browser window under Options.
