P2 Formatting

I own a HPX170 and I am trying to reformat the P2 card using the supplied software. Normally, when I load my footage via the FW port the P2 cards mount of the desktop as "No Name". I would like to use the software to name the cards with the software but when I open the P2 card application I cannot find the cad information. Can you format using the FW port or do I need to purchase a P2 card reader in order to format the cards in a way that is less confusing?

I don't think you can name the actual card in the Mac OS (and I don't think it would read the name if you can). However, when you offload, you can create your own folders to contain it, using whatever name you want.

The software doesn't seem to do anything. I cannot even access the card itself. When I click "full delete" the "format" button is greyed out.

I thought this might be a good place to ask this question?

I'm running a mac. On a Panny AJ-PCD2 reader when the P2 formatter is running and the card you want to format is showing up in the pop up window, should the "Full Delete" check box be selected before hitting the format button? What is the difference between formatting with and without selecting this box?
