P2 Error, any "repair clip" options in P2CMS?

Does anyone know if there is a way to perform a "repair clip" procedure on some P2 footage that's been copied to a hard drive? Some of my clips have a pink box with an exclaimation point in it which is located on the top right section of the thumb nail. I can go into the contents folder, double click on one of those clips and play it in quicktime but i can't get the same clips to show up in FCP when I'm trying to Log and Transfer.

I'd like to use P2CMS to do this if possible as I can't really afford to purchase any other software right now.

That pink exclamation point is not a warning that your footage needs to be repaired, so don't worry. It's saying it's a spanned clip, but it can't find the next or previous clip in the chain. If you copied your files all into one big directory, you'd find those exclamation marks disappearing because the system would "know" where the other clips are.

hey barry, thanks for responding.

so are you saying that I should copy all of the mxf files into the same directory and then when I try to log and transfer them into FCP, they'll show up? what about the audio files? will they still be linked to the video files if I bring them into FCP?

right now, 3 out of 8 are showing up.

also, a bit of detail. In the HVX there was a 16gb and 32gb card. the 16gb card was filled up and we were towards the end of filling up the 32gb card when suddenly the card was taken out while recording. this is why i thought i was in trouble with the footage.

I'd just go ahead and try what you suggested but I wont be in front of that computer until this evening.

EDIT: Ok I copied all of the mxf files into one directory and no luck. I'm not sure if that's what you were suggesting.

Okay, if the card was taken out while recording, then the clips will need to be repaired. But usually that's represented by a yellow "X", not by the pink "!". The pink "!" means that the chunks of a spanned clip aren't all present.

If you have the cards, try copying all of the files back onto each of the cards, put both cards in the camera, and use the "repair clip" function. Then, after doing the repair clip, you'll want to do the "re-connect" function. That will tell each portion of the repaired clip where the rest of the portions are. Then, use P2CMS to export all the clips into one directory.
