Just noticed while looking for another P2 card that there is an E series card. What is the difference in quality? The price looks a lot better than the original card price.

Bottom line is the life of the card. There's plenty of info here on the forum about the new cards. A quick search will turn up all the answers to your questions.

In the digital realm, as long as you have all of your 1s and 0s, there is never a difference in quality between various storage media.

But the "as long as you have all of your 1s and 0s" is what determines the quality. That is, there are differences between storage media in how reliable they are in storing those 1s and 0s, and differences in how long they can be relied upon. The new series of P2 cards are just as reliable as the old series. They just won't last as long.

If asking about reliability, then I agree -- but that's usually not what people are after when they ask about "quality." They tend to be worried that the image won't look as good if it's recorded on "inferior" media.
