P2 driver for non-HVX owners?

I'm using an editor to work on a music video I shot. He's working in FCP 6.0 and has tried to install the driver from Panasonic's site but it asks for his HVX model and serial number;

Is there a way to workaround this? Also, his file>import>Panasonic P2 command is grayed out in the pulldown menu. He impoorts the files through log and capture but the viewer window doesn't give him a footage preview. Is there another driver on Apple's site? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I clicked on the link and downloaded that file without any interference.

Also, FCP 6.0.1 used log and transfer, not log and capture. If he can mount the card, he will be able to capture. To mount the card, he needs the driver,

Finally, what CPU is he using? Intel or PPC?
 
He's on a Power PC iMac (the white plastic model). We transfered the files from my firewire drive so it's not a matter of getting them onto the box, it's just that there's no import>Panasonic P2 in the drop down.
