when i open my files into the P2CMS program they have red X boxes on the top of each icon of footage. what does that mean? i used a HVX200 with a FS-100.

it also says in the 'copying window':

'There is a possibility that the equipment and data are damaged when the equipment connected while copying it is detached.'

i have no idea what that means. weird english and not specific.

any input here would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

You are probably using a Firestore with version 4 firmware/software. The clips are actually fine. FS-100 clips shot at 24fps get flagged with "INVALID!" in the VFR ratio section of the metadata. Ironically, if you shoot offspeed the correct information is entered into that field.

It's pretty disconcerting to see all your clips marked with a red warning X but my experience has been that the clips transferred fine and that it is an issue with the Firestore and P2CMS. I had a conversation with Firestore Tech Support and their response was basically that they followed the spec's laid out by Panasonic and that's that. They don't support P2CMS compatibility or purport to.

Of course, they didn't say why things changed from v3 to v4...
