I have basic question...

If you have two p2 cards in the hvx and the first card fills up is there any break between when the camera swtiches over to using the second card

My understanding is the write continuous and the clip is joined using the information contained on the LASTCLIP.TXT file

In FCP, it will rejoin the two split clips and treat it as one clip...very nicely.

Nope, no break in the video or timecode, it's seamless, just like what happens when a clip on a 8GB card hits the 4GB file size limit of the FAT32 file system.

It's up to the NLE to make editing truly seamless and show segmented recordings as one clip, however.

Ditto, in AVID you don't need anything... AND there's absolutely NO breaks, or pauses between switching to the next card...
