P2 card wont insert files into PPro in secquence

when I transfer clips from P2 card into PPro They are not in secquence .I then have
to put them into thumbnails and rearrange them all. Am I doing something wrong
as you will agree this is very time consuming

remember everytime you switch the camera off and on, the count starts at 0001 again for the filename (with the random two digits following).

They can be put into any order you want; you only have to click on the appropriate column in the Project window to sort by it.

Premiere Pro doesn't use the 6-digit identifier that Derrick_SA is referring to -- it labels the clips by the UserClip Name assigned in the metadata.

Yeah, David is right, Premiere uses the "User Clip Name" field,

but when that is not specified in the META data of the clip, it uses the filename (though even if a single shot is split over say 3 files, it recognizes that, and sees it as one, thus the 0001 followed by two random letters/digits.)

You agree David? I could be wrong.

oh, btw, if you shot in sequence, clicking on the creation date column will sort it to that, if it helps.

I always do a sort on the Start Timecode column.
